It looks like a couple of magazine articles (either National Geographic Adventure or Backpacking) tacked together. Much of the advice is obvious. On the other hand, it’s not a bad book exactly, just woefully incomplete.

This book gives you lots of info in a fun visual format. Mike Clelland’s illustrations and great! Love the playful clear style. This is one of my favorite backpacking books. Good intro to lightweight techniques.

This is a very easy and informative read on lightweight backpacking. The author does not go into a great deal of details but explains what light weight backpacking is and how to lighten your load. You can get all the information off the web but it is nice to read it in a good fun compact book.

Simply put, grab this book. It has backpacking perfectly organised with the research done for you. It even provides some name brands of products they reccomend. I really got alot more than my money’s worth.
