GSI Outdoors Bugaboo Frypan What's in YOUR camp box? GSI skillets!

Review Date: March 4, 2010
Reviewer: Flo Smith, Houston, TX
I have two of these skillets - the 10 inch and the 8 inch. They are everything I would want in a camp skillet. The handle folds into the pan so that it fits nicely in the camp box. The two skillets even nest together, so two take up no more space than just the one. The non-stick coating is just that; clean-up is a breeze.

There is a safety latch on the handle that clicks into place as you open it out to use it. To re-fold it, you must press the two sides of the coated handle together to disengage the latch. It is not difficult, but it's just something you might want to know. The latch prevents the handle from folding up on you unexpectedly, which I think is a nice safely feature.

The handle is coated, which provides some level of heat protection, but I think it might melt if it were exposed to direct heat. With a heavily filled skillet, I suggest the added protection of a hot pad, in addition to the insulated handles.

I have used these two skillets frequently over several years, and they look and perform like brand new.

I have never been disappointed in GSI cookware. Hopefully, you won't be, either.
